About Me

My name is Tanya, I am Ofsted registered childminder graded "OUTSTANDING" in my last inspection (June 2017).

I started working in May 2011 - I am proud to say I have not stop working since.

My aim is to provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment, where every child in my care feels safe, secure and valued. Each child will be treated as an individual and will be given the opportunity to develop physically, socially and emotionally in a warm and friendly, home-like environment. I have a wide variety of toys and resources suitable for different ages and stages of development.

I have two teenage girls of my own.  We live in a lovely little cul-de-sac in Kingswood, Bristol and have done since 1999. We have two cats called Tigger and Smudge who are very child-friendly but make a hasty retreat when they have had enough.

I work by myself on a daily basis, however I am lucky to be part of a lovely network of local childminders who all support each other and our minded children, we meet on a regular basis.

I attend local toddler sessions and soft play. I make regular visits to the library so there is always a fresh selection of books available and children are given the opportunity to choose books themselves. We go out locally to nearby parks and often use the cycle track for walks sometimes enjoying the company of other childminders and their minded children. We go on local trips to Westonbirt Arboretum, Chew Valley Lake , Puxton Park, Hengrove Park, Bristol Museum  and other nearby places of interest.

Having sent my own children to childminders for many years I understand the value that such a service can provide, and how important it is that children are happy and well cared for. I also understand the need to provide parents with information and honest feedback regarding their child's day to day routine, including what they have been doing, what they have enjoyed or disliked how long they have slept, what they have eaten and their general behaviour

I am a member of Childcare.co.uk. I am fully insured by Childcare Public Liability insurance, which includes Employers Liability Insurance to cover my daughters whilst working with the children. I have motor vehicle insurance including business class. I hold a clean driving license, and Greenflag cover just in case.

Both my daughters are registered as assistance. We all have Ofsted enhanced Disclosure and Baring checks (DBS).

Myself and two daughters have Paediatric First Aids Training (renewalable every 3 years).

I take regular ongoing training so I may consistently update and improve the service I provide.

I am able to accept the two year old funding and the Nursery Education Grant (NEG) for three to four year olds.

I have references from parents of the children I currently mind as well as children that have left the setting, you are more then welcome to read.
